Pretty Little Lady?

A long time ago, I was sitting in Mr Bailey’s house with a group of musicians and they were all jamming. One of them asked me to play something and I said no.
It wasn’t because I wouldn’t, it was because I couldn’t!

This will sound completely crazy because I’m a singer in a rock band but I’ve never been able to sing in front of other people in any situation that doesn’t involve me being on stage with 3 other musicians rockin’ out. Fronting a loud energetic rock band is completely different to the intimate settings of any acoustic performance and I’ve always admired musicians who can perform alone on stage with only an acoustic guitar and pull it off because it’s definitely not easy. I can't even do bloody karaoke?

And so… I have decided that now is the time to face my fears…”Pretty Little Lady?” is a concept I came up with for a series of acoustic gigs I will be performing on my own next year.
Drunken recording sessions have taken place… I will be playing a Garbage cover and a set of new songs especially for these particular shows venting my utter disgust at certain events and scum!

Not your typical singer/songwriter set, this will take balls to play!

“Let them fuel your fire”.

R.I.P DADA Records!

This Saturday will be the last day DADA Records is open! :-(
So sad to see the decline of independent music stores which tend to offer something a bit different from the likes of HMV. I've always found one of the joys of any music store is browsing the shelves, while listening to whatever is playing, in hopes of finding something new. Looking through the stacks of vinyl and all the amazing artwork on them... Having something to hold onto will always be better than 1's and 0's on a computer!

Finally it’s here! After all the trails and tribulations Lilygun has been through, we never thought we’d see this day come but it has! Our debut album is out today and we want to thank everyone for their continued help and support x

There are many people who help make this band tick, but special thanks to the two outstanding musicians we’ve had the pleasure of recording and playing with, Mr Aaron John and David Ryder Prangley. I woke up this morning to an album review that almost brought tears to my eyes! Now I know that may sound OTT, but Lilygun has been through so much, so many bad times and heart break, usually mine, but today here it is... alive and kicking!

Over the years people tried to change it because it "doesn't fit in" but I'm so proud we stuck to our guns and made something that's real and the response to it has been truly amazing!

Anyway I won't go on but here is another stunning album review -

We also did a short interview for More Than The Music which you can see here:

And today we have our first Skype interview on XPat Radio at 4pm which you can tune into here:

Can't wait for our back to back gigs this weekend!

Good times,

May Moonlight

Greetings Earthlings!

We are extremely happy with the overwhelming response we've had to our second single Moonlight! It has received AMAZING reviews, being described as "one of the most beautiful-sounding singles of the year" and has had an absolutely brilliant reaction from DJs.

Both of our singles Moonlight and Scum have been aired on many radio shows in the UK as well as in America and made the Playlist on many shows airing to thousands of listeners. Moonlight even made XFM's Playlist on the Ian Camfield Rock Show! In fact, Lilygun has made three different Playlists in one week featuring both of the singles released this year. Bloody awesome!

In other news... we have new badges to celebrate the two single releases which you can purchase from the Shop at and we will be shortly announcing a string of gigs to promote our forthcoming album, due for release later this year.

This is a really exciting time for us with loads of cool stuff in the pipeline and we can't wait for our debut album to come out! Keep an eye on Lilygun's website for updates, events and interviews to come.

We're so excited to announce the release of Moonlight today!

This single is different to the album version and was cleverly edited by Belle and Adie Hardy. We would like to thank the wonderful Aaron John for his help and Bob Loveday who provided the beautiful violin. This is a very special song for Lilygun. It holds a lot of memories and we really hope you love it as much as we do.

Manifesting Scum

One day, in May, I found myself emerged in the distinct smell of bullshit provided by, and what has often been referred to as, “the scum of the earth”, human beings!
This sounds very negative and of course being spat on, shat on, disregarded and disrespected is an all together horrible experience but it can lead to a place of great strength and grace.

Why are people so cruel and heartless? Why do they try to tear you down? The green eyed monster rears its ugly head and you get stabbed in the back by a so called friend, betrayed by a lover, mugged by a brother. This world can be a dark place where enemies greet you with a smile.

But the message in Scum has been understood by those who have heard it. “Don’t let the scum kill you”. I say fuck them! “There’s no need to be a victim of the scum”. Rise above the bullshit and show them what you’re made of. You are the master of your own ship and only you decide where it can go. “Don’t let them get you down”.

One day, when you look back on your experience with scum, you’ll be able to laugh, for they can provide great entertainment! Those who spite you are often jealous, insecure assholes who would love to see you fall flat on your face. Don’t give them the satisfaction.
And so I thank the scum, for without them, I may never have written this song!

By Anna-Christina

You open up your mind, to see what you can find
In the middle of May, one fateful day
You try to find solutions, you try to find out why
Your soul feels so empty and you feel so dark inside

And I know. And I know and I know how you feel
Cos I’ve been there before but the wheel
Keeps on turning and turning until we see

There’s no need to be a victim of negativity
There’s no need to be a victim of the scum
There’s no need to be a victim of negativity
There’s no need to be a victim

You know that voice inside, you’ve got to listen
Don’t let the scum kill you, don’t let ‘em get you down
And in your deep despair you try to still care
But life just has no meaning when pain and hurt is all you’re feeling

And I know. And I know and I know how you feel
Cos I’ve been there before but the wheel
Keeps on turning and turning until we see

There’s no need to be a victim of negativity
There’s no need to be a victim of the scum
There’s no need to be a victim of negativity
There’s no need to be a victim

Fox, Scum and all things fun...

Hello out there!

It's quite hard to get my rotten self to keep this blog going, so while I'm here, I'm going to bombard you lot with an overload of information that will span over the next few months.

Firstly, we're playing, on what's sure to be a drunken Saturday night, at The Intrepid Fox in Tottenham Court Road with my lovely friend's band Die Kur next Saturday 28th January.

Two days later, on Monday 30th, the first single Scum from our debut album will be released on Zeff Music and will be available, as a download only, from iTunes,, Amazon and all good music stores. Here's a link to the promo video: SCUM VIDEO

There's a review you can read here: ROCK REVIEWS 24/7 but keep an eye on our website, it's bound to get a few more reviews and radio play from certain lovely people who still give a rats about proper Rock music! HA!!!

Then there's a month of me running around trying to get Moonlight, the second single, pressed onto limited addition vinyls that can be brought for a very reasonable price from our website and some independent record stores. Analog lives on...

Followed by a show at the Garage in Islington, Saturday 3rd March, which I'm so excited about because it's the first time Lilygun will play there and we've been allowed to pick our support bands! All brilliant female fronted bands with attitude, this will be a really cool gig.
Get info about this show here: GARAGE GIG

And after all of that, comes the album, but we're definitely not organized for any of that right now so I'll just ignore it all for now and only say...

Lilygun, coming out of the closet...
